Overview

Starting in v0.6, every conversion automatically generates a short summary and a set of semantic tags. No configuration needed — Web2MD handles everything behind the scenes so you can scan your history at a glance.
AI Summary & Tags is a Pro-only feature. Free users see a blurred preview with an upgrade prompt.

How it works

Convert a page

Convert any webpage using the popup, keyboard shortcut, or context menu — the usual flow.

Summary is generated automatically

After conversion completes, Claude Haiku generates a 1–2 sentence summary and 3–5 semantic tags based on the extracted content.

View in Preview Card or History

The summary and tags appear directly in the Preview Card and in your History list.

What you get

Smart Summary

A concise 1–2 sentence summary of the page content. Useful for quickly recalling what an article was about without re-reading it.

Semantic Tags

3–5 auto-generated tags that capture the key topics. Click any tag to filter your History by that topic.

Free vs Pro

Full summary and tags are displayed on every conversion. Click any tag to jump to a filtered History view showing all matching conversions.

Zero configuration

There is nothing to set up. You don’t need to provide an API key or enable a toggle — AI Summary & Tags runs automatically on every conversion for Pro users.
Tags are a fast way to build a searchable knowledge base. Over time, your History becomes a topic-indexed library of everything you’ve converted.
